Michigan Football: 3 Predictions for Wolverines against Maryland
Michigan will throw for 300
This is a pretty bold prediction since Cade McNamara has only thrown for 250 yards or more once this season but that’s more because of how the Wolverines play.
For the second straight week, Blake Corum is going to be out and while Hassan Haskins is more than up to the challenge of carrying the load, McNamara will shoulder his fair share this week.
Maryland is probably better defending the run, but the Terps aren’t great in that regard either and while the Wolverines will commit to the run and have success, it will lead to some big plays down the field, and Michigan football will finish with 300 yards passing.
Most of those will come from McNamara, who I think will go for over 200 and throw two touchdowns in a sharp, efficient performance. Erick All, Cornelius Johnson, Roman Wilson, and Andrel Anthony will share in the big plays along with freshman QB J.J. McCarthy, who could see some more time if the game gets lopsided.
Even if it’s not, the coaching staff will want to keep him engaged and build his confidence, so expect a big play or two from him — whether running or throwing.
It’s going to be a big day for the offense and a really strong showing from the quarterbacks.
