1. Battle Tested

The Michigan Wolverines have one key advantage in this game. The Wolverines have consistently proved this season that they will not overlook any opponent or fold at any point. In addition, they’ve already had two road tests that have them primed and ready to enter East Lansing.

Defeating Wisconsin on the road in Madison in a blowout win on October 2nd, and then the following week putting an end to the Nebraska hype train in a game that was under the lights in an insane environment.

Spartan Stadium is called “The Woodshed”, but those two aforementioned programs are arguably tougher venues to play at.

When you have a first-time starting quarterback in Cade McNamara, a first-time defensive coordinator in Mike McDonald, and a plethora of first-time starters on both sides of the ball, having that experience is invaluable. It goes without saying this is an intense game, one of the better rivalries in all of college football, and you can throw out the record books.

But Michigan is already battle-tested. Compared to a Michigan State team that hasn’t played in a packed house all season, the Wolverines have an advantage here.
