2. Cade McNamara will eventually put his teammates in harm’s way.

It’s hard to imagine this becoming a reality because he is so careful with the football in his hands every time he touches it.

McNamara made one mistake that placed Michigan behind on the scoreboard, but he responded by getting up off the mat and going back ahead in the score column. He has to be given some amount of respect for not letting his troops fail in such an unfriendly situation.

McNamara’s comments after the contest were honest and understandably truthful. His leadership in those pressure moments shouldn’t be taken for granted when it comes to these circumstances. He made the correct reads on most of his passes put the offense in a position to be successful.

He finished the outing with the most passing yards he has thrown for all season to this point. He’s not going to light the world on fire with eye-popping stats, but he does not put his unit in unfavorable positions.

As much as people want McCarthy at the helm, he gives the maize and blue their best chance at winning right now.
