Michigan Football: Key tidbits from the past week in recruiting
The latest on Dillon Tatum
When it comes to the board, they aren’t a ton of targets that are likely to come off the board this month. We look at four commitment candidates this month, but the top of the list is West Bloomfield’s Dillon Tatum who is expected to decide in the coming weeks.
Tatum’s timeline has been pushed back a few times. He was supposed to commit in April and said he was having a commitment video made, but then he delayed that decision.
It’s probably safe to assume if he was making a commitment video at that time, it was for a pledge to the Wolverines, who have been the crystal ball leader and at least the slight favorite for months, although Michigan State is gaining ground.
Michigan State at least pulled even to a 50/50 battle and Mel Tucker deserves a lot of credit. However, in the last part of July when recruits could take visits, Tatum visited Michigan football, not Michigan State, so at the very least, I’m more optimisic than I was a few weeks ago.
Michigan feels like it re-claimed a little momentum but if Tatum doesn’t decide soon and wants to visit Tennessee, which offered recently, than who knows?
