The latest on a number of top 2022 recruiting targets visiting Michigan basketball including Seth Trimble and Donovan Clingan.

The Michigan basketball program has been busy hosting recruits during the month of June and just this week, the Wolverines hosted Jaden Bradley, Donovan Clingan, and Seth Trimble.

That comes on the heels of Ty Rodgers, one of the top recruits in the state of Michigan in the class of 2022, taking an official visit June 1-2. He also picked up a crystal ball projection around the same time.

Bradley, a five-star point guard, who is considered by some to be a Kentucky lean, really enjoyed his experience at Michigan and was one of three point guard prospects to visit Ann Arbor this month along with Trimble and Dug McDaniel.

What’s interesting is that both Trimble and McDaniel have crystal balls predicting them to Michigan basketball. They appeared to be the top targets at the position, in part, because Bradley seemed like more of a long shot.

But, as I said, Bradley really enjoyed his visit as documented by Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider, and here’s what Bradley’s dad said about Juwan Howard and the Wolverines:

"“As a family, we stress family atmosphere,” Bradley’s father, Nathan told The Michigan Insider. “I think there are a lot of programs out there that say ‘family’, but I think they leave out the word ‘dysfunctional’ on the front of it. And we were able to kind of experience a lot of (family without the dysfunction) with Michigan (last) weekend.”"

While McDaniel was taking visits elsewhere this week, Trimble did an interview with Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com this week and here’s what he said about Michigan:

"“Michigan has been on me heavily, I talk to Coach Martelli every morning. I really enjoy Coach Howard and his personality, I feel they’re a team who could fit my play style and I’m excited to get out to visit soon.”"

Trimble and McDaniel are each four-star point guards according to the 247 sports composite rankings, while Bradley is a five-star recruit.

Trimble feels like the best bet for Michigan right now, but that’s only if the Wolverines will be able to beat out North Carolina for his commitment. Trimble said he was likely to commit later in the summer after possibly taking more visits in July.

4-star center also visits Ann Arbor

As far as the center position goes, there really isn’t the same issue as far as determining the top target. It’s Donovan Clingan, especially if Jalen Duren does wind up reclassifying for 2021. Even if he doesn’t, most expect him to play pro basketball.

Clingan will visit UConn too and the 41st overall recruit in the 2022 class, who stands 7-foot-1, is out of Bristol, Connecticut, and the Huskies are a major factor. But so is Juwan Howard.

Juwan can point to guys like Hunter Dickinson, Austin Davis, Jon Teske, and Brandon Johns as proof to Clingan that he can improve his game and get him to the NBA.

Can UConn make that same guarantee or offer the plug-and-play role Michigan basketball can? Clingan will be able to step right into Dickinson’s spot, as the big man is nearly guaranteed to enter the draft next year, assuming he returns next season, which he hasn’t officially done.

Next. Michigan's ideal 2022 class. dark

Michigan should have a really good chance of winning this recruitment too and if you add Clingan, a point guard such as Trimble, and then Rodgers to the expected commitment of Jett Howard and the Wolverines will have a loaded recruiting class once again.
