Guards

Mike Smith: B

Smith continues to be a revelation for the Wolverines and he exactly what Michigan needed in this game. Smith picked his spots and did a good job attacking the basket as well as finding others. He scored 14 points and was 4-for-5 from the field as well as 2-for-3 from deep. He did turn the ball over a few too many times, which dropped his grade but overall, his offense was exceptional.

Eli Brooks: B+

Brooks wasn’t spectacular in this game, but his defense was really good and he ended up with the third-highest plus-minus out of anyone on the team behind Livers and Wagner. Brooks just does things that don’t show up in the box score.

Michigan was struggling to finds its way early, he gets a steal and a bucket and that settled things down. He finished with three steals total, as well as one steal and only one turnover.

The thing you love about Brooks is that he doesn’t need to score to contribute but he can. However, he doesn’t need a bunch of shots, so he’s a perfect guy to have in this lineup, especially with the elite way he plays defense.
