Michigan wins the battle from deep

The Wolverines have routinely won the battle on 3-pointers this season, even pulling even with the Ohio State Buckeyes, who are the best deep shooting team in the Big Ten.

Part of that is Michigan’s offense is really good. Michigan has the third-best adjusted offense in the country and the Wolverines are the second-best 3-point team in the Big Ten at 40 percent in conference play.

That could be an issue for Indiana because the Hoosiers have the worst 3-point defense in the conference and allow 36.7 percent.

Over the years, Indiana has had a tough time defending Michigan and that probably continues on Saturday. I don’t see Indiana with anyone that can slow down Dickinson or Franz Wagner and that will lead to open looks for others.

Mike Smith has also been a magician in ball screen situations and I’d expect him to keep creating open looks against an Indiana defense that doesn’t defend the perimeter very well.
