Michigan Basketball: Grading Wolverines win at Wisconsin
Wings
Franz Wagner: A-
One of the most interesting stats or among the most difficult to believe is that Franz Wagner grabbed just one rebound. However, he scored 14 points, made two important 3-pointers, blocked a shot, had a steal and was just stellar defensively. He looked like the best offensive player on the floor to me in terms of NBA upside. His attack of closeouts gets better by the game.
Livers earns an A simply because he kept Michigan basketball afloat in the first half when Wisconsin was trying to run away with things. He made a jumper before half that got Michigan some momentum and had 11 total in the first half. His 3-pointer to give Michigan the lead at 59-57 was the final turning point. That’s when you felt like Michigan was going to win. Wisconsin was tough defensively, but he created some shots, made 8 of 16 attempts and hit four treys.
Brown probably played better than this grade and his defense always brings value. Offensively, he didn’t make a shot from the field and only grabbed one rebound. He played 18 minutes and even though he didn’t score a ton of points, he still impacted the game in other ways, namely defense.
