Michigan Basketball: 3 Predictions for Wolverines vs Wisconsin
A defensive battle
After not seeing the Wolverines play for over three weeks, it’s really hard to get an idea for what we’ll see on Sunday. Michigan basketball has only had a week of practice and it’s hard to simulate game situations.
Making matters worse, the Wolverines are playing on the road against an experienced Wisconsin team that’s 9-5 in the Big Ten. The Badgers haven’t been shooting the ball as well lately and are in a bit of a slump, but they are still ranked 12th in the Kenpom rankings.
They are also a top-10 team just like Michigan basketball according to Kenpom’s defensive efficiency ratings. And while we don’t really know how well the Wolverines will shoot the ball, their defense should travel to Madison just fine.
Wisconsin is known for its 3-point shooting but the Badgers are just 10th in the conference in 3-point percentage and Michigan allows the second-fewest 3-point attempts in the league.
It’s possible Michigan will get hot or that the Badgers will break out their shooting slump, but I have a feeling it’s going to be a struggle for teams to above 60.
