The pass rush is legit

Getting the quarterback is the key to any good defense. Whether it’s high school, college or the NFL, if you can’t apply pressure on the QB, it’s going to be a long day.

Well, Michigan football shouldn’t have any issues with that in 2020, not with the defensive end duo of Hutchinson and Paye looking “dominant” in camp.

Here’s the latest buzz from Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider ($):

"“Through padded practices at this point, the defensive line is the unit that I’ve heard garner the most praise, and Aidan and Kwity are the biggest reasons why. The word “dominant” has been used to describe each of their play.”"

Paye has been projected as a first-round pick in some mock drafts and Hutchinson isn’t far behind. In fact, there has been talk that Aidan is looking like a Bosa and if that’s true, he’s aiming to be more than just a first-rounder.

Additionally, Chris Hinton should provide a better presence rushing the passer from the inside and on the edge, David Ojabo is a name that continues to get mentioned. He and Ben VanSumeren will be filling the Josh Uche role at SAM.

At the end of the day, if you were to pick the biggest strength of the 2020 Michigan football team, its pass rush might just be it.
