Aidan Hutchinson needs to be a top-notch pass rusher for Michigan football in 2020 and it sounds like he’s ready to meet the challenge.

Looking back when Aidan Hutchinson committed to Michigan football, it was easy to see then he was going to be a standout for the Wolverines.

But looking ahead to the 2020 Michigan football season, which is now just 17 days away, Hutchinson isn’t just looking to be a standout for the Wolverines, he’s looking to dominate.

And dominate like Nick and Joey Bosa of the Ohio State Buckeyes, which according to Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider is a comparison that’s been floating around Michigan football practice:

"“I ask around about how practice is going and talk to different guys… I swear to you that one of the things that was said to me was, ‘yeah, man, he looks like he looks like the Bosas.’ I swear that verbatim, that’s exactly what was said to me.”"

When Webb made that comment, he was on his radio show interviewing Chris Hutchinson, Aidan’s dad and a former Wolverine. The Michigan football junior certainly is looking like a Bosa now that he’s 6-foot-6, 269 pounds.

Also according to what his dad told Webb, he’s constantly studying his craft:

"“He’s 269 right now, but he has gained seven pounds of muscle. So, his body looks completely different. But all he does when he’s not studying or working out… because of their program that the University gives them, they have access to basically all the NFL film. So he watches the Bosas and he was just watching Chase Young.”"

What will Hutchinson do in 2020?

Michigan football fans were excited when Kwity Paye announced his return, but I don’t think people realize that Hutchinson could have gone to the NFL draft too.

Last season, he finished with 69 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks, as well as six pass deflections. Certainly, he could use more pass-rush production, but his play was impactful and you could tell he was just scratching the surface.

But now with Josh Uche and Mike Danna both gone, Hutchinson will need to take his game, especially when it comes to sacking the quarterback, to a whole new level. And he’s ready to do just that. Here’s more from his dad via Webb:

"“I think the Bosa comparison is probably going to be fairly accurate. He has about the same frame, he (has) the measurables from their combine. He just needs to put it together on the field, which I have absolutely no hesitation that this year is going to be nothing but spectacular.”"

One key thing mentioned is that Aidan will get more chances to rush from the edge this year, which makes sense with Uche and Danna now gone and opposite Paye, he should wreak havoc.

Paye has been talked about as first-round draft pick and Hutchinson has gotten buzz too. Yet, if he plays as much like a Bosa in games as in practice, he could go much sooner than once expected.
