Checking in with Will Johnson, Domani Jackson

Michigan football is squarely in the mix for two of the top cornerback prospects in the class of 2022. One of them is in-state recruit Will Johnson and the other is California’s Domani Jackson.

Johnson is the third-ranked corner in 2022, the top-ranked player in the state of Michigan and the No. 8 player overall via the 247 composite rankings. Jackson is third overall in the class and is ranked as the best corner.

Earlier this week, some crystal ball projections came in for Jackson to USC, but Michigan is still a presence and Jackson has a ways to go before making a decision.

Also, the Wolverines are right in the mix for Johnson. They made his recent top-10 list and here’s what he told 247 sports Friday about Michigan:

"“They are definitely very high on my list. Michigan will always be one of the top schools for me. They will be always be up there for sure. No question about it.”"

Johnson’s dad played for Michigan back in the 1990s, so there is a connection there. Ohio State looks to be a big factor and they could be the top competition. It seems unlikely that the Wolverines would win both of these recruitments, but just one would enormous.
