Starter: Franz Wagner

Backups: Terrance Williams, Jace Howard

Franz Wagner could have wound up on an NBA roster had there been a complete season. In the final seven games, Franz became Mr. Consistant and lived up to the preseason hype. One of his best performances was against Ohio State when he finished with a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds).

Franz coming back to Ann Arbor is a big deal for the squad and he will be a darkhorse candidate for the conference player of the year.

Next up are a pair of freshmen. Terrance Williams could play the three or four, but if Juwan wants boards and Franz needs a breather, Terrance is the best option.

Even in the Big Ten, Williams will be a bully down low and he’s an effective shooter from the perimeter. I don’t think Franz will see fewer minutes, although, when he does require a break, Terrance will provide a spark.

Williams will have some competition, as Juwan’s son joins the mix. Jace Howard was built for the wing and if he doesn’t get a ton of minutes his first go around,  Jace will become a key player by year two or three.

There will also be the occasion when Brandon Johns Jr and Isaiah Livers are on the court at the same time. In that instance, Livers will drop to the wing and Johns will fill the four.
