Best wing you can find

If Michigan is able to land a point guard and center, then essentially, all the needs will be met at that point. Next on the agenda in building the Wolverines ideal 2021 class is finding another playmaker on the wing.

Barnes, the first commit for Michigan in 2021, is a fast-riser and if you watch high school tape from last year, he really took off. And if he could carry that over against elite competition, he could be a top-50 caliber player, similar to Bufkin.

Obviously, Michigan is very much in the mix for five-star Harrison Ingram, as well as another five-star in Trevor Keels. From Fairfax, Virginia, Keels doesn’t lack for offers as North Carolina, Duke and Virginia are all in the mix as well as Michigan.

He’s 16th overall in the 2021 class. Ingram, a 6-foot-6 wing is ranked 15th overall and has a crystal ball projecting him to Stanford. Yet, the Wolverines are making solid progress there too.

Matthew Cleveland, the 24th-ranked prospect in 2021 and another shooting guard, also included the Wolverines in his top five recently. 6-foot-6 wing Quincy Allen, who is a talented 3-point shooter, is another that would fit well.

Whether it’s Ingram, Keels, Cleveland or Allen, the Wolverines should be able to secure at least one top-50 wing, and that, along with top-30 commitments at center and point guard, would make up Michigan’s ideal 2021 recruiting class.
