Michigan football added four-star linebacker Junior Colson Sunday and now, the Wolverines should get another commitment Monday from Jaydon Hood.

The Michigan football program added one really talented defender on Sunday and now, it appears the Wolverines will be adding another commitment in just a matter of hours.

Not long after Colson announced his commitment to Michigan football, Rivals’ recruiting insider EJ Holland teased on Twitter that it was just the start of a good week for U-M. And sure enough, top Wolverines target and four-star linebacker Jaydon Hood, announced soon after that, on his twitter account that he would be announcing Monday (today).

I speculated last night that Hood was one of the guys Holland could be talking about it and after he posted this last night, his 247 sports’ recruiting profile has blown up with crystal ball projections to Michigan football.

Prior to Hood setting a commitment date, he had a pair of crystal balls going to the Wolverines and seemed like a solid lean. Well now, he has eight projections to U-M ($), with Steve Wiltfong rating his confidence on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, at a 10, which means a lock. Andrew Ivins, a Miami insider, also has Hood to Michigan as a lock.

Overall, the average confidence of the 247 experts is 8.3. Hood, who is rated as a three-star by Rivals, has 100 percent of his FutureCasts going to Michigan too.

What would Michigan football get in Hood?

If Hood does indeed commit to the Wolverines later this afternoon, what would they be getting?

Some compare Hood to Devin Bush Jr., including the coaching staff. According to the 247 sports composite rankings, he’s the 298th overall player in the 2021 class and the No. 11 inside linebacker.

That’s exactly where Bush ranked coming out of high school, 11th among inside linebackers and actually outside the top 300 overall at No. 311.

He also stands 6-foot-2 and 212 pounds, very similar to Bush. Even his production reminds you of the former Michigan linebacker and his highlights will too.

Last season, as a junior, Hood registered 115 tackles, seven sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions. He also scored two defensive touchdowns. The linebacker from Florida told 247 sports that he expects to make his decision at 4 PM EST time. Stay tuned.
