The Michigan football team landed a commitment from four-star linebacker Junior Colson Sunday, but one insider teased it was just the beginning this week.

As far as Michigan football recruiting is concerned, it was a really solid weekend for the Wolverines, considering they grabbed a verbal pledge from four-star Junior Colson Sunday afternoon.

Colson, a top recruit out of Tennessee, is the top defensive player committed as part of Michigan football’s 2021 recruiting class and according to the 247 sports composite rankings, he’s No. 118 overall as well as the eighth-best outside linebacker.

That’s a significant addition in its own right, considering Colson is now the third-ranked prospect in the Wolverines class, which ranks eighth nationally according to 247 sports and sixth according to Rivals.

But if you believe Rivals’ insider EJ Holland, more good news is on the way this week about the Wolverines, as he Tweeted soon after Colson committed, “This week just getting started.”

Who knows exactly what that means but with at least four recruits solidly trending with 247 sports’ crystal ball predictions, here’s a guess at who it might be. (Again, just a guess).

Four candidates for the next Michigan football commitment

There are four players right now that make sense if you pay attention to who is predicting players to go where. it’s  an inexact science and not always reliable, but most of the time these guys are right.

As far as 247 sports is concerned, four-star wide receiver Christian Dixon, four-star linebacker Jaydon Hood, four-star offensive lineman Drew Kendall and four-star defensive end Kechaun Bennett have all been trending. with crystal ball picks.

All four of those 2021 recruits has multiple crystal ball projections, all with a confidence rating of 5 or higher (1-10 scale, 10 being most confident) and most of them have been very recent.

Also, Kendall is being projected 100 percent by Rivals FutureCast to Michigan.

Hood has 83 percent of his FutureCasts sending him to the Wolverines, while Dixon’s FutureCasts are 80 percent Michigan.

Bennett doesn’t have any predictions yet from Rivals but it wouldn’t be surprising if that started.

dark. Next. Predicting Michigan's starters in 2020

Of course, just because all these recruits have been projected to Michigan football recently doesn’t mean a darn thing and Holland could be talking about something completely different. But it’s something to watch this week and if the predictions listed above are correct, it wouldn’t be shocking to hear something from one of those guys relatively soon.
