Wagner will shoot the ball better

As a freshman, Wagner wasn’t a great 3-point shooter, yet he did make 31 percent of his attempts. He was a high volume shooter, so he shot nearly five 3-pointers a game and ended his first campaign with Michigan basketball making 1.5 per game.

While some of those struggles can be attribtued to the wrist injury Wagner suffered early in the year, he shot an even lower percentage in Big Ten play, finishing at 29 percent.

For whatever reason, Wagner shot the ball better in transiton than in the halfcourt, making 38 percent on transition 3-point attempts, compared to 29 percent according to UMHoops ($).

The good news is that down the stretch, Wagner seemed to turn a corner. He averaged over 15 points a game and shot 38 percent from deep in the final seven games and if he can continue to shoot the ball that well from beyond the arc all season, his scoring average should increase at least a few points.
