Michigan Basketball: 3 bold predictions for Franz Wagner next season
Michigan basketball got some good news when Franz Wagner announced he was returning to the Wolverines and here are three predictions for him next season.
The Michigan basketball team didn’t get a ton of great news in April, as five-star recruits Josh Christopher and Isaiah Todd each spurned the Wolverines.
Christopher ended up choosing to play at Arizona State with his brother. Todd, on the other hand, decided to turn pro and go to the G-League instead of honoring his commitment to Michigan basketball.
Obviously, getting those players would have been significant in terms of next season, however, after getting the news that Franz Wagner was at least going to return, Michigan basketball fans had something to be positive about.
Wagner was also the bright spot for Michigan fans last summer, after highly touted recruit Jalen Wilson de-committed from U-M and wound up going to Kansas instead of Michigan. Franz was Juwan Howard’s first big get and he might end up as the first Wolverine from the Howard era to play in the NBA.
What we do know for sure is that Wagner is going to be counted on to play a much bigger role in the 2020-21 season. Isaiah Livers NBA draft decision will impact that, but even if Livers returns, Wagner is going to be the most talented basketball player on the team.
The Wolverines fortunes will depend heavily on his development in year two and with that in mind, here are three bold predictions for Wagner next season.
