Michigan football is expected to sign 25 recruits Wednesday as part of early signing day and while there shouldn’t be surprises, here is our tracker that will be updated throughout the day.
National Signing Day used to be one of the most exciting days in college football. Now, it’s basically irrelevant as Michigan football and every other power program does the majority of work in the early signing period, which starts today.
While there are always questions about how many players will sign, early on, Michigan football is having everyone sign that is expected. There hasn’t been any surprises and truth be told, the Wolverines are only in a couple of recruiting battles.
Four-star quarterback CJ Stroud is expected to make his decision Wednesday between Michigan football, Georgia and Ohio State. But all crystal balls are pointing towards the Buckeyes.
The Wolverines are also after Donovan Green-Warren, who is announcing next month and James Pogorelc, a three-star offensive tackle.
Outside of that, it should be a pretty ho-hum day for the Wolverines. But since players can officially join the program and coaches can comment on them once they are signed, it’s still exciting. And here is a tracker with a rundown of who is now an official member of the Michigan football program:

Analysis:
The first signee of the day for Michigan football was four-star defensive end Braiden McGregor, who is one of the gems in this class. Despite a knee injury, which could limit his ability to play early, the expectations are high for one of the best pass rushers in the 2020 class.
Some of the other big names are already in, as four-star running back Black Corum signed early, along with Jordan Morant and Makari Paige.
Before it’s even 11 AM EST, Michigan football has 21 of its 25 players signed, including Braiden McGregor and A.J. Henning who just was announced not long ago. Of course, the only suspense is around CJ Stroud, who will be making his decision soon.
Update: As expected, Stroud ended up committing to Ohio State this morning. All of the crystal balls were pointing in that direction. Now it’s official.
Michigan has added Dan Villari, who was the next in line after Stroud. He has signed. Only three players haven’t yet and they are Nick Patterson, Gaige Garcia and Micah Mazzccua. There is no indication yet that any of those guys won’t come.
