Michigan football notched a solid win in recruiting Wednesday and one recruiting expert believes another is on the way soon.
Sometimes with recruits, you can feel the momentum building towards a commitment and with one Michigan football target, Donovan Green-Warren, a four-star cornerback from California, it seems like the Wolverines are closing in on a pledge.
Green-Warren is going to announce his choice at the All-American Bowl next month (Jan. 4) but it’s possible that he will sign earlier, as some players did last year and announce it at the all-star game.
At one time, it seemed like Green-Warren was headed to either Oklahoma or USC. The Harbor City prospect had close to 90 percent of his crystal balls with the Trojans, but now those numbers have changed and Michigan football is up to 40 percent, while USC is down to 50.
In some important news, a pair of recruiting experts for 247 sports are now predicting the No. 13 corner in the 2020 class to commit to the Wolverines. One is Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider ($). He’s a trusted source on recruiting and Michigan football in general and basically, he wrote that a bunch of different things added up to a commitment to him.

Greg Biggins, another recruiting expert is projecting Green-Warren to wind up with Michigan football too, so things seem to be moving in the right direction.
The four-star recruit and probably the top target left for the Wolverines, at least on defense, visited Dec. 7 and had positive things to say about his visit.
As far as how he would fit with Michigan, it seems like it would be an ideal match. The 6-foot, 187-pound corner has really solid man-to-man skills and would be a great fit in Don Brown’s defense playing Mike Zorich, the cornerbacks coach.
Zordich has done a tremendous job of developing NFL corners at Michigan with Jourdan Lewis, David Long, Lavert Hill and Channing Stribling among just a few. Ambry Thomas has also greatly improved and that’s a big draw for Green-Warren ($), who has NFL ambitions.
After watching Ohio State tear up the Wolverines defense again this November, Brown and company obviously need reinforcements. Four-star defensive end Jaylen Harrell committed earlier this week and adding Green-Warren on top of that could help push Michigan, which is 11th nationally, into the top 10.
It would also add another defender capable of possibly playing next season. We will see if the projection turns out to be true.
