Don Brown’s Dreadful Defense

For the second straight year, Ohio State’s offense ran circles around the defense. Don Brown mentioned a stern warning to Ryan Day that this would be a different result. He said that he has been thinking about this for a year and envisioned changes would be made. That was not the case as Michigan football surrendered another pitiful excuse for an effort.

OSU rolled up over 50 points and 500 plus yards for the second consecutive year. For all the credit that Brown receives for shutting down opponents he is supposed to shut down, he rightfully deserves the criticism for getting manhandled by the superior ones. The corners could not cover the receivers again, while getting little to no pass rush against Justin Fields.

Fields would routinely find space to run through and pass for big downfield gains. His backfield mate, J.K. Dobbins, had a monster day. His performance continues the trend of whomever runs the ball better in this rivalry usually comes out on top. OSU’s receivers just seem to be recruited for this game and continually show why. The Michigan secondary just cannot hang with them. Ohio State’s offense is simply a juggernaut that is impossible to stop.
