Jackson has a bright future

Offensively, Giles Jackson hasn’t much a huge impact this season for the Michigan football team, yet he will someday and it might be sooner rather than later.

Michigan fans have been excited about Jackson for a long time with the hiring of Josh Gattis as offensive coordinator, he seemed like a player that would benefit. He’s exactly what you picture when you think of speed-in-space.

But, the 5-foot-9 freshman has struggled to get on the field with Ronnie Bell and fellow freshman Mike Sainristil above him on the depth chart. So, he found another way to impact the game, returning the opening kickoff against the Terps for a touchdown.

The score also showed his tremendous potential. Whether it’s with screens or handoffs or whatever, it would be nice to see Jackson touch the ball more. But even if he doesn’t this season, he’s a dangerous weapon in the return game and a nice piece for the future.
