Porous Run Defense

Jonathan Taylor proved once again why he is a clear favorite to win the Heisman is 2019. Michigan could not get any pressure on Jack Coan either. The defense as a whole made Wisconsin’s offense look unstoppable and Don Brown did not have any answers to being punched in the mouth from the onset.

Down 14-0 in the second quarter, Brown called a goal-line formation that had Jordan Glasgow lining up on the line of scrimmage. That controversial call ended up being a quarterback sneak for a touchdown right in the spot where Glasgow started the play. The reasoning behind that will leave people wondering how Don Brown gets paid top coordinator money, but his unit constantly struggles in these must-win outings.

Wisconsin’s offensive line deserves all the credit for their blocking today. They opened gaping holes for all of their backs to run through and kept Coan routinely clean all day. They are on a collision course to Columbus in what appears to be a Big Ten championship preview on October 26th. While Don Brown will hunt for anything that can fix the major problems his group faces on defense.
