Collins will take center stage in Madison

For all intents and purposes, Nico Collins is the best player on Michigan’s offense right now and if he’s not a focal point of the gameplan Saturday, then this coaching staff has no clue what it’s doing.

Donovan Peoples-Jones may be able to return and play for the first time in 2019, but even if he does come back, how effective will he be? Collins, on the other hand, has been healthy, however, hasn’t met expectations so far in 2019.

At times, in the past, he has been dominant. He caught two touchdowns at Ohio State last season and that’s the kind of player Collins has to be Saturday. The Wolverines just can’t afford to wait to target him until they are behind.

If the offensive line can protect Patterson, which it should have a better chance at doing with Jon Runyan Jr. back in the lineup, the advantage Michigan has is outside. Wisconsin is great in the middle and running the ball will be tough.

First-down throws should be the norm and if this offense finally lives up to its moniker of speed-in-space, Collins will have a huge day.
