Michigan Football: 5 bold predictions for Wolverines against Wisconsin
Patterson plays one of his best games as a Wolverine
In last year’s game against Wisconsin, Patterson didn’t need to be elite. Heck, he barely even needed to manage the game with the way Michigan football was able to pound the rock.
This year though, that strategy won’t prove as effective. On the road, against a defense that hasn’t given up a single point, Patterson is going to have to be at his best. And believe it or not, I think he will be.
He talked this week about making a statement. He meant the entire offense but you can be sure he wants the monkey off his back. He contributed over 200 total yards last year and did a bunch of damage on the ground.
Patterson will need to run to keep the Badgers honest and keep some of the reads he didn’t against Army. But more than that, he needs to be elite in the passing game. He has all the tools, he just needs to execute.
If he delivers on his potential, Michigan football will win and all will be right with the world. If not, it might be time for Dylan McCaffrey to take the reigns. But when it comes down to it, I still believe in Shea, even if this might be his last stand.
