Michigan Football: 5 predictions for Wolverines against MTSU
Big day for the offense
Maybe the most exciting aspect of the game tonight is a first look at what the Wolverines offense will be under new offensive coordinator Josh Gattis.
Michigan football has been working in this spread, up-tempo, no-huddle system since the spring and here’s hoping all that time has paid off in a big way. Middle Tennessee State isn’t a great defensive team, but they return Khalil Brooks and DQ Thomas, as well as Reed Blankenship.
The Blue Raiders like to attack and be aggressive, sort of like Michigan with Don Brown and as we all know, that can sometimes lead to big plays.
With Donovan Peoples-Jones, Nico Collins, Ronnie Bell, Tarik Black, Mike Sainristil, Giles Jackson and all the tight ends and backs, the Wolverines have an abundance of weapons. They also should have the protection up front for Patterson to pick apart the Blue Raiders.
Some might be making more conservative guesses, but I say the offense clears 450 total yards and 50 points, possibly with the help of a defensive touchdown. This a new year and a new team.
