Zach Charbonnet gets over 100 yards in his debut

Michigan football hasn’t said who will be starting at running back but it’s safe to say that Zach Charbonnet, Tru Wilson and Christian Turner will all get touches. Hassan Haskins likely will too.

If the game goes the way that everyone expects, Michigan will probably rush for around 200-300 yards behind what could be the best offensive line the Big Ten. But since Jim Harbaugh named Wilson the starter at Big Ten Media days but refused to say he was still the guy leading up to Saturday, it makes you believe Charbonnet may have overtaken him.

If that’s true, Wilson will still have a role to play, especially in pass protection. He’s also solid as grinding out yards. Turner should also get some touches and will get a chance to show what can do.

However, after this first game, I expect Charbonnet to be the clear No. 1 guy. He has a rare blend of size and speed and tonight, he will give Michigan football fans the first glimpse of how good he can be.
