Michigan Football: With 28 days left, here’s 28 Wolverine storylines
5 Through 1
5. Urban Meyer said this could be Michigan’s best offense
After Jim Harbaugh spoke the truth about Urban Meyer’s controversial past, Urban snapped back with a compliment which happens to be the least Urban-esque thing to do.
“It’s ironic that this could be their best offense, yet they lose some really, really good players on defense,” Meyer said. “But they’re always going to be good on defense.”
4. Betting odds have Wolverines with fifth highest chance to win National Championship.
Again according to Sportsbook Review, the Wolverines have the fifth-highest chance to win the National Championship. First, let’s concentrate on the Big Ten and Indy before we look to the Playoffs.
3. Ohio State is really obsessed with UM, like in a weird stalker way.
It was revealed at Big Ten Media Days that every day after workouts, the Buckeyes have an extra Wolverine centric drill. They call it the ‘That Team Up North’ drill.
The workouts include punching a bag with a block M on it to:
“We have this countdown clock to The Game,” OSU safety Jordan Fuller explained. “Usually we’ll have workouts and we’ll do however many pushups, situps – whatever – curls – however many days are left (on the countdown clock). That’s how many reps we’ll do of whatever. So they can be long, long, long – like, really long. At the beginning of the winter, it’s like 300 something days. So you’ve got to do 300 something reps of whatever coach says. That makes you kind of start to dislike them, because you’re like, ‘Wow, why are we doing this for one team?’”
That screams restaining order.
2. Ryan Day looks like the grownup version of Butthead from Beavis and Butthead.
Yup, uncanny resemblance.
1. Don’t be surprised when this Wolverine team is putting up over 50 in the scoring column.
Also, don’t be surprised when the defense is giving up over 20. As I said before, “The defense will be on the field a lot more as a result of the upgraded offense.” Don Brown’s defense will be put to the test even more than it was last year when UM had the third-highest time of possession in the country.
The Wolverines might put up 50 a game but they will also drop 50 spots in points allowed in 2019.
