Michigan Football: 3 best reasons Wolverines are legit top-10 team
Michigan has offensive talent like OSU did in 2018
When the NFL draft was on over the weekend, it was easy to see why Michigan’s defense struggled with Ohio State after the Buckeyes had Dwayne Haskins, Paris Campbell and Terry McLaurin all drafted in the first three rounds.
It also got me thinking about how Michigan has exactly that kind of talent heading into 2019. Michigan returns starting quarterback Shea Patterson, as well as Donovan People-Jones, Nico Collins and Tarik Black, three guys capable of getting drafted next April.
Peoples-Jones was the top wideout in the 2017 recruiting class and with a new offensive system, he is set to have a huge season. Health is a concern, but even if he can’t get on the field right away, Collins and Black are both NFL talents. UM also has some dynamic up-and-comers such as Mike Sainristil, Oliver Martin, Ronnie Bell, Giles Jackson and Cornelius Johnson.
On top of that, Michigan has talent in the backfield with Christian Turner and Zach Charbonnet, as well as a deep and experienced offensive line. Truly, there isn’t a single hole on this offense and if the new system is as aggressive as the coaching staff says, this offense will be explosive.
