Mike Sainristil

Starting quarterback Shea Patterson will have no shortage of weapons for the upcoming season but another name Michigan football fans need to know is freshman wide receiver Mike Sainristil.

Sainristil is a 5-foot-10 wide receiver who came to the Wolverines as a two-way player, however, coaches decided he would be best as a wideout and so far that looks like a good move.

Here’s what Harbaugh had to say about the early enrollee:

"“The other newcomer is Mike Sainristil. He is on his way to cementing his spot in the starting lineup as well, and is doing a great job at all the receiving positions. He’s getting open and is fast, and has added a level of speed and quickness to our offense. He’ll definitely do punt returns as well and is up to No. 2 on the depth chart there, and is also in the rotation at kick return — he’s No. 4 there.”"

Sainristil also earned some recognition from Josh Gattis who was demonstrating how to run routes in practice in a video which he posted. In the same video, he posted a rep of Sainristil beating a corner on an out and running up the sideline.

So far the offensive coordinator and the head coach seem to really like Sainristil and with the way he runs, the quarterbacks will too.
