Michigan Football: 5 bold predictions for Shea Patterson in 2019
Patterson will reach 3,000 yards passing
Under Harbaugh, Michigan football hasn’t always had the best passing game. Jake Rudock was pretty effective in 2015, however, he remains the only quarterback under Harbaugh that has thrown for over 3,000 yards.
Patterson put together the second-best total in Harbaugh four years with more than 2,600 yards. He also threw more touchdown passes (22) than any other quarterback has under Harbaugh.
That shows just how conservative the offense has been at times. But under Gattis, things should open up in 2019 and if they do, that will be a good thing for Patterson’s numbers. More passing attempts should mean more yards and more touchdowns.
Patterson also has some very good receivers to throw to in Donovan Peoples-Jones, Nico Collins, Tarik Black, Ronnie Bell and Nick Eubanks. With Karan Higdon graduating, Patterson should become the focal point of the offense.
