Recruits are buzzing about Gattis

Josh Gattis is a unique individual. He played defense in college at Wake Forest but has risen through the ranks as a wide receivers coach, who is now an offensive coordinator.

Gattis was expected to be the offensive coordinator at Maryland but Jim Harbaugh brought him to Michigan football after he heard the former Penn State assistant was leaving Alabama. And so far, it seems like a perfect fit.

Jim Harbaugh has talked about how Gattis is going to run the whole offense and Gattis also said that Michigan football will be running an entirely new system, so good things on the horizon. However, Gattis is more than a play caller.

As a recruiter, he was ranked No. 23 in the 247 rankings and during his time at both Alabama and Penn State, he has landed some legit players.

Beyond that, Gattis is already making an impact for Michigan football. Five-star wide receiver Julian Fleming, the top pass catcher in the 2020 class, has had good things to say about Gattis, along with a number of other targets.

Gattis also helped land commitments from Keilan Robinson and Javon Baker, two players that the Wolverines are now trying to flip. The bottom line is that young players love wide open offenses and coaches that develop talent and Gattis is known for both, especially with the huge season Jerry Jeudy had for the Crismon Tide in 2018.
