Michigan Football: 3 things the Wolverines could use for Christmas
A win in the Peach Bowl is still worth making the list
For some reasons, a lot of Michigan football fans have dismissed the Peach Bowl as a meaningless game and while I get that overall sentiment when it comes to the bowl season, I don’t think it’s meaningless at all.
For one, you know if the Wolverines lose, those same fans will act like its a significant loss — suddenly it won’t be meaningless anymore. So if losing means something, winning the game would mean something too.
And there are plenty of reasons UM should want a win. Its first 11-win season in seven years is a start. It would also be the first 11-win campaign under Harbaugh. Additionally, it would give Michigan its first top-10 win away from Ann Arbor since 2006. Call me crazy but I think that’s a big deal.
In the 11 seasons since Lloyd Carr retired, this will be just the third major bowl the Wolverines have made and in order to get to the playoff, first, you need to get to and win games like the Peach.
Teams generally have to go through a progression and winning this game would be a step in the right direction for Michigan. It’s a big game and playing in it, as well as winning games like it is exactly what the Wolverines need to reach the next level.
