Michigan Football: 5 reasons Wolverines fans have to be thankful
Winovich has been a transcendent player this season
If you narrowed down the four people that are most responsible for the success Michigan football has had this season, even though it would be tough, those four guys are Harbaugh, Patterson, Brown and Chase Winovich.
While Winovich has been a dominant player on the field, his leadership, and his attitude, which has been infectious, might be just as important. He is the one that came up with the revenge tour and he also had the bravado to call Michigan State little brother again after the Wolverines won the Paul Bunyan Trophy back.

Winovich is third on the team in tackles with 58 and that’s a pretty impressive feat for a defensive end. He also has four sacks, 13.5 tackles for loss and a team-high seven quarterback hits.
As great as Winovich has been, we should all be thankful he decided to come back. He nearly entered the NFL draft last season and his choice to come back, along with the choice of Patterson to come to Michigan, are two reasons why the Wolverines are 10-1, two wins away from a Big Ten championship.
