Patterson keeps doing more and more each game

Don’t get me wrong, Michigan can still run the football. After all, Karan Higdon reached 100 yards for the eight time in his last nine games. However, you can’t deny that Shea Patterson is taking on a bigger role in the offense.

Last week against Rutgers was a good example. The Scarlet Knights held up well against the run and forced Patterson to beat them, which he did with three touchdowns. Against Indiana, he had one really bad throw for an interception, other than that, he was really good.

Patterson threw for 250 yards and ran for 68, giving him a total of 318 yards. He completed 16-of-28 passes and ran for some key first downs. Michigan is still going to be a run-first team, yet Patterson is showing he can carry the offense too.

While the red-zone issues are a little concerning, Michigan still scored 31 points and with The Game looming, Patterson seems to be playing as well as he has all season.
