Michigan football beat Indiana Saturday to win its 10th straight game. Before we look ahead, here is a look at five things we learned.

It’s interesting in sports how some teams just seem to play well against certain teams. When it comes to Michigan football, one team that always seems to play them tough is Indiana.

And Saturday in the Big House, the Hoosiers gave Michigan football another close call. The Wolverines actually trailed at halftime, 17-15, before UM outscored Indiana 16-3 in the second half to win 31-20. It was actually the closest home win of the year and that includes teams like Penn State and Wisconsin.

It was a good effort for the Wolverines but it wasn’t perfect. Peyton Ramsey had a pretty good day and despite racking up more than 500 yards of total offense, Michigan scored only 31 points and kicked six field goals.

The Wolverines inability to score in the red zone made it so they couldn’t put Indiana away. A poor sequence at the end of the first half that saw Michigan get stopped one yard short of a touchdown, but then didn’t even get a field goal attempt because they couldn’t spike the ball in time, although on the play, the refs should have flagged Indiana for kicking the ball. But these are Big Ten refs, you know you can’t expect much.

At any rate, Michigan won the game and set up a showdown with Ohio State next Saturday in Columbus. Both teams are 10-1 and just like in 2016, the winner will win the Big Ten East. It’s finally Ohio State week but really quick, here is look back at Indiana and five things we learned.
