Brandon Peters is the first QB off the bench

A year ago against Rutgers was when Jim Harbaugh simply had enough of quarterback John O’Korn. After a poor start against the Scarlet Knights, Harbaugh turned to Brandon Peters who completed 10-of-14 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown.

Michigan football won that game and Peters first career start against Minnesota. But after that, things kind of went downhill. He played solid against Wisconsin, then got a concussion and wasn’t good in the bowl game. This week, Harbaugh said he was competing with Milton for the backup job.

Milton might get some snaps, but I’d expect to see Peters sometime in the third quarter. I think Michigan will grab a big early lead and Shea Patterson will be on the bench by halftime. I am not saying Peters in the backup, however, I think he will get the first shot in this game.

Hopefully, he gets a chance to throw the ball and get some confidence back. My inclination is to give Milton the backup job, he’s the guy that coaches talked about in fall camp — not Peters. Yet, Peters is more experienced and maybe he will give us some reasons to be excited again about his future.
