Michigan Football: 5 predictions for the Wolverines against Rutgers
Higdon gets 100 for the eighth straight game but does it by half
Karan Higdon has become a special player for the Wolverines and ya know what, this Michigan offensive line is pretty good too. Higdon is second in the Big Ten with 120 rushing yards per game and second in total rushing yards with 963 and seven touchdowns.
He came up six yards short of 1,000 a season ago, but he will get it Saturday against Rutgers. He will also reach 100 yards for the eighth straight game, only it won’t take him that long.
With an average of 217 yards per game, Michigan football has the fourth-best run offense in the Big Ten and averages five yards a carry. Also, after watching the Wolverines run all over Michigan State, which has the best run defense in the country statistically, Wisconsin and Penn State, Rutgers doesn’t seem to have a shot.
The Scarlet Knights also rank 13th out of 14 teams in the stopping the run. They have allowed 5.6 yards per attempt and 234 yards per game, so all the Michigan backs should be licking their chops.
