Michigan Football: 3 reasons the Wolverines will obliterate Rutgers
Michigan needs to impress the committee with a blowout win
When you play a team like Rutgers and you are contending for a berth in the College Football Playoff like Michigan is, the only thing to do is beat them mercilessly.
Look at what Clemson did to Louisville last week. The Tigers hung 70 points on the Cardinal in the win and that’s exactly what Michigan football needs to do against Rutgers. Right now, the committee is signing praises of the Wolverines and rightfully so.
Yet, that might change a little if Michigan struggles and beats Rutgers by only a couple of touchdowns. At the end of the day, it probably won’t hurt much, but it could hurt the Wolverines overall argument, especially if they end up getting compared to a one-loss Alabama team that hypothetically losses the SEC title to Georgia.
With just a few weeks to go, Michigan can’t afford any slip-ups. It also can’t afford to let any of its momentum slip away. That’s why the Wolverines will take care of business Saturday and why they should be absolutely ruthless in the way they do it.
Like I said earlier this week, Michigan is back to being a bully in the Big Ten and if that statement is true, the Wolverines will obliterate Rutgers.
