Michigan football beats the Spartans on the road 24-17 (5-0)

Honestly, a short time ago, I would never have Michigan football winning its first five Big Ten games, but here we are.

In my estimation, two things have happened to change my mind. One, Patterson has looked really good and is a tremendous upgrade. He’s easily the second or third best quarterback in the Big Ten. Secondly, Wisconsin and Michigan State may not be as good as we once thought.

Don’t get me wrong, Michigan State is going to battle the Wolverines. The Spartans also have never been a team to win with style. Mark Dantonio and crew just win. At least they have a lot lately.

What’s sickening is the 8-3 record Dantonio has against the Michigan football program. It’s one thing to lose to Ohio State, a national title contender every year, but getting owned by the Spartans is a whole different issue.

Thankfully, it all stops this year. I have felt good about this game for a long time, which probably means I’ll be wrong, but I think Patterson is the answer for the Spartans defense. And if the offense can score 20 points or more, that should be enough.
