Julian Love will have his sights set on intercepting Shea Patterson

If you are talking about some of the most talented players on the field in the Notre Dame-Michigan game, then one of the names you have to mention is Julian Love, a corner and preseason All-American for the Irish.

Love is going to be a junior this season and while he doesn’t have tremendous size at 5-foot-11, he does have four career interceptions and picked off three passes last season. Even more impressive than his three picks, in my estimation, is the 20 passes he broke up. That is 23 plays on the field that resulted in something good for the defense.

With Tarik Black out of the game with a foot injury, it’s hard to say who he will cover. It might be Donovan Peoples-Jones, Nico Collins or even Grant Perry or a combination of all three.

But make no mistake, the turnover battle is going to be huge and with Patterson‘s history of interceptions, you need to watch out for Love making a game-changing play at some point.
