If you want to watch a glimpse at some future Michigan football stars, check out the Army All-American Bowl, which will have three Wolverines recruits.

The Army All-American Bowl has turned into one of the most prestigious high school all star games in the country. And when the game is played Saturday, Michigan football will be well represented.

The Michigan football recruiting class currently ranks 14th in the FBS and third in the Big Ten. One reason for that, is three of the players on the West roster at the All-American Bowl. Aidan Hutchinson, Cameron McGrone and Jalen Mayfield, three players that signed with the Wolverines in the early-signing period, will all be in action today in San Antonio.

Because this is the first year of early signing, there aren’t as many unsigned players as in the past. So Michigan isn’t really expected to pick up any recruits at the game, but will get a chance to see how three of its top guys hold up.

Hutchinson, who is actually one of the best tight ends in the state of Michigan, will play defensive end. He’s a guy that could make an immediate impact next season, so I’m excited to see what he can do against high-end offensive tackles.

On the other side of the trenches, it will be interesting to see how Jalen Mayfield plays. The 6-5, 273-pound tackle, is the best offensive lineman in the Wolverines 2018 class. According to 247 sports, he’s the 19th best tackle in the country and the fourth-best player in Michigan.

The Wolverines could use an influx of talent at the offensive tackle spot, especially with the graduation of Mason Cole, so Mayfield is another guy that could compete for time right away. He will need to bulk up some, but it’s possible he’s in the mix for playing time next fall.

And last but not least, McGrone is another incoming freshman that could see the field right away. McGrone is one of the top-ranked players in Michigan’s class. The 6-1, 215-pound linebacker is the No. 11 linebacker and with an opening left by Mike McCray, who knows, McGrone could see the field right away.

Michigan football has been exceptional when it comes to recruiting linebackers under Harbaugh and McGrone looks like another good get. Of course all-star games can be hard to evaluate, but will be fun to watch all three future Wolverines go up against some of the country’s top players.
