Michigan Football: 3 2018 recruits who will become stars
Hutchinson will be a diamond in the rough
Picking three guys from a class of 19 at this point, isn’t easy. It’s also not easy when most of those guys are highly-ranked, four-star recruits. Yet one player that isn’t ranked among the top 200 players in his class, could turn out to be one of the best.
His name is Aidan Hutchinson. He’s a 6-6, 260-pound tight end/defensive end from the state of Michigan that has some unique and exciting abilities. If he wanted to play tight end for Michigan football, he easily could. He has great hands, runs good routes and is a very good athlete.
However, he uses all those same skills to be an absolute nightmare rushing from the edge. Having a guy that 6-6 is always intimidating, but when that guy also has the athletic ability of Hutchinson, it can be formidable.
If you watch the highlight above, you see how Hutchinson uses his long arms and speed to beat offensive tackles around the edge. And like the Watt brothers at Wisconsin, he might be the next great pass rusher than can also play tight end.
The Wolverines are loaded up front. But with guys like Chase Winovich and Rashan Gary at least gone after next season, there’s a void that will need to be filled and Hutchinson seems like a perfect fit. Frankly, I see him as a future All-Big Ten performer.

Hutchinson has the physical tools and the motivation to be great. That’s why fans will love him and why he will end up as one of the true stars in this 2018 recruiting class.
