OKC might want Wilson’s upside

The Thunder are in a bit of a rough spot right now. They are trying to build around Russell Westbrook, but when you have the 21st pick in the draft, it makes it tough.

That’s why I could see Oklahoma City turning into a legitimate landing spot for Wilson. Last season for Michigan basketball, he showed so much improvement, it’s hard not to be excited for his future.

At this point, the Thunder know they need to strike lightning in a bottle. So maybe they decide to take a chance on Wilson, someone, who if he had returned to college and entered the draft next year, might have been a lottery pick.

In some ways, Wilson reminds of Serge Ibaka, the old stretch-four that used to excel for the Thunder. No. 21 may seem a bit early, but when there is vast potential, teams are willing to be a bit more aggressive in their targets.

With a bunch of different options, expect Wilson to go in the first round tonight. He just has too much talent and too much potential not too.
