Projected backup: Brandon Peters

When Peters was recruited by Jim Harbaugh last year, the head coach compared him to Andrew Luck. It’s hard to say if he will ever live up to that hype, but his play this spring was a good start.

While Speight still ended the spring as the No. 1 guy, Peters definitely applied some pressure, not only by playing well in the spring game, but throughout spring practice.

Yet, when he got the chance to shine in the Michigan spring game, he took advantage. He was 9-of-17 for 160 yards that day. He also threw one touchdown pass and one interception.

The throw shown above is just one example of what Peters can do. He’s tall, decently athletic and throws an accurate football. He may not be the starter, but I am confident he will best O’Korn in the battle to be the backup.

And let’s face it, if Peters is forced to play this season, I think we can all agree we would be pretty comfortable with that.
