Michigan basketball has a roster that is up in the air right now. But here is a prediction of how the Wolverines starting lineup will shake out next season.

Even though the Michigan basketball team saw its season end a few weeks ago, it’s still hard not to look back.

Not only was the Wolverines run to the Big Ten tournament championship and the Sweet 16 one of their best seasons in years, it was simply a joy to watch.

Michigan basketball played fun basketball. The Wolverines played a lot of great teams and didn’t back down. However, the downside of UM’s NCAA tournament run, was the departure of D.J. Wilson and Moe Wagner.

Last week, both players entered the NBA draft without hiring an agent. Each could return because of that, but it seems unlikely both will be back. The loss of one or both players, along with the graduation of Derrick Walton Jr and Zak Irvin, as well as the transfer of Mark Donnal, puts the roster in flux.

With three incoming freshman, as well as redshirt Austin Davis, Michigan has some solid additions, especially with transfer Charles Matthews eligible for next season.

Yet, outside of Matthews, Duncan Robinson and Muhammad-Ali Abdur Rahkman, a lot is up in the air. Obviously, it’s still early in the process, Wagner and Wilson have more than a month before they have to make their final decision.

Michigan also has time to add recruits to the 2017 class or sign a graduate transfer or two.

Yet, to jump the gun a bit, here’s a prediction of next season’s starting lineup, which as a whole will be a prediction of what Michigan basketball could look like next season.
