Michigan Football: 5 Best Michigan Running Backs in School History
By David Cuff
5. Chris Perry-
Chris Perry played four years at Michigan, but wasn’t seen as a great player initially. His first two seasons were spent as a back up before he exploded during his last two seasons at Michigan. His senior season in 2003 was particularly special. Perry racked up over 2,000 yards of total offense and 20 total touchdowns as a senior. Against Michigan State that year he set a Michigan school record with a ridiculous 51 carries. Perry led Michigan to the Rose Bowl as a senior and had some great individual accomplishments as well. He won the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s best running back and finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting.
