Michigan football make not make headlines in the 2016 NFL draft, but that will change in 2017.

There is no doubt that the talent level in the Michigan football program began to dwindle there for a few years. But, thanks to some strong recruiting of Brady Hoke (he did land all of the guys on this upcoming list) and the coaching skills of Jim Harbaugh, the Wolverines are back on the rise.

In terms of players going from Michigan to the NFL, next week’s NFL draft won’t be a huge deal for the Wolverines, even though a slew of players should get selected. Graham Glasgow, Willie Henry, Mario Ojemudia and Jake Rudock are some that have a chance to get selected.

Yet, none are a sure thing to go in the first two days of the draft and if multiple players were selected in the first three rounds, it would be surprising.

Obviously, teams that are winning big like Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State, have big-time talent and that will be reflected on draft day when each has a bevy of stars selected.

Yet don’t fret fans of Michigan football. For you, those days are right around the corner, because the Wolverines are loaded with talent and that’s why when the 2017 NFL draft rolls around, they will make their presence felt.

In all honesty, the Wolverines could have close to five guys selected within the first two days next year and possibly even 10 players overall. Even if some players leave early for the draft, it can still be good for the program. It brings exposure and shows future recruits that going to Michigan means a real chance at the NFL.

Here are the Wolverines’ top 5 NFL draft prospects for 2017.
