Since becoming the head coach at Michigan, Kyle Whittingham has worked hard not just to build the roster for the 2026 season, but for seasons ahead. Whittingham focused a lot on the transfer portal in the beginning, but since it closed, he has really turned his focus to high school recruiting.

Three-star EDGE rusher Isaac Miller was one player Whittingham was hoping to land, but instead, he chose to go elsewhere in the Big Ten with a commitment to Wisconsin. The commitment did come as a bit of a surprise as other big programs such as Florida, Notre Dame, and Miami were all after the talents of Miller.

In the end, Miller chose to stay in-state and team up with the Badgers for his college career. Granted, this does give Whittingham some motivation to try to flip Miller away from Wisconsin. A commitment isn't a signed letter, and with official visit season coming up in the summer, Whittingham could get Miller in the building adn make him a true offer he can't refuse.

In his junior season, Miller had 61 tackles, put pressure on the quarterback 28 times, had seven pass breakups, and three sacks. Those numbers only seem like they will improve heading into his senior year.

It is clear, though, that Wisconsin has been after Miller for a while, creating a relationship with the EDGE rusher back in his junior season. Unfortunately for Michigan, with Whittingham just being hired, he has had to work from behind on some high school recruiting.
