Michigan football landed an important commitment on Saturday, when four-star offensive lineman Lincoln Mageo announced his commitment to the Wolverines. His commitment marked the 21st of the 2027 class for Michigan.

Having taken 24 commitments in each of the last two classes, there doesn't appear to be much room left in Michigan's 2027 class. And of the spots that remain, there aren't any obvious uncommitted targets. From a visit perspective, the focus has turned to the 2028 class.

Michigan football recruiting targets left for the 2027 class

So, who is left for Michigan to recruit? There are a few targets that Michigan lost out on initially and will keep working on throughout the season. Likewise, there are other flip targets that will likely emerge during the season. One thing is for sure, though - on the field results are going to be huge for the 2027 class. Most national pundits are expecting Michigan football to win around 8 games. If the Wolverines can find a way to win 10, or even 11, in the regular season, there's going to be a lot of renewed interest from prospects committed elsewhere.

The current names to watch are pretty obvious. Five stars Joshua Dobson and Dakota Guerrant are going to remain two top targets for the Wolverines. If Michigan has a dynamic offense and really gets the wide receivers involved, the Wolverines should have at least a chance with Guerrant. Likewise, if the defense performs at a high level and South Carolina struggles, Dobson could be back on the table as well. Safety Marcus Jones, who committed to Tennessee, could be another name to watch.

Outside of the prospects that Michigan has already been recruiting, keep an eye out for senior risers. This staff has tons of experience finding diamonds in the rough, and that could be a huge advantage for Michigan. Once the high school season begins, look for the staff to be very active. They're going to be searching for underrated seniors to fill the remaining gaps in the class.

The 2027 class, as it stands now, is a huge success for Kyle Whittingham. The amount of ground he was able to make up in a short period of time is incredible, and this class is likely only going to get better. If the Wolverines outperform expectations this season, we could see some exciting flips.
